Time sure flies when you're having fun! I am amazed, as my husband John and I just marked our fifth year living on our beautiful Cotton Hill Farm and now in 2015 are excited to be celebrating my tenth year in the thoroughbred world.
I started out as a small breeder in 2006 and purchased Cotton Hill Farm in 2009, which I continue to develop and improve to make it the best place to raise New York bred thoroughbreds. I am now a mid-size breeder and sell at public auction and in private sales. I race some of our homebreds and also now manage fun, affordable and successful breeding partnerships. I am very proud to say my first two racing partnerships both produced stakes winners in Mischief Maker and Chasing Bubbles. I am excited to see what our new partnerships will do in the future.
As the number of beautiful horses I breed each year grows, so does our farm. Improvements and construction continue on a regular basis. We are always looking for the next great employee to add to our wonderful team. I am so pleased with the people that live and work on my farm taking care of my horses. I feel fortunate to be building such a great staff and terrific friendships.
My guiding rule has always been “THE HORSE ALWAYS COMES FIRST” and I believe this is the reason I am breeding and raising strong, well mannered, successful racehorses. I am very proud that I have so far bred and raised three stakes winners, two stakes placed colts and numerous winners in my short time in the thoroughbred industry.
As a breeder I believe in taking care of my own. I do my best to keep track of every horse I breed that leaves my care and ownership. When a horse is done racing, and if it needs a safe haven, I take them back home to Cotton Hill and always will. One of my future goals is to designate some of Cotton Hill Farm's 244 acres for a retirement and rescue for horses in need of a safe landing spot. These horses give us so much joy, love, excitement and thrills and it is the responsibility of everyone in this business to make sure they are loved and cared for whenever they need it.
“Please visit the website often to see our “Windhorses” and developments on Cotton Hill Farm. You are welcome to visit us at the farm anytime. I look forward to meeting you in person and showing you our future champions that are available for sale or in custom partnerships. I am very proud of each and every one of them.”
